A third generation pill used for dysfunctional uterine bleeding and hormonal imbalance. Also functions as a contraceptive.
Gesto-Kare is a combined oral hormonal preparation containing desogestrel, a third-generation progestogen, and ethinylestradiol, a synthetic estrogen. Desogestrel suppresses ovulation and stabilizes the endometrium, while ethinylestradiol regulates the menstrual cycle by inhibiting Follicle-Stimulating Hormone (FSH) and increasing cycle control. Together, they correct hormonal imbalance, reduce abnormal uterine bleeding, and provide effective contraceptive action.
